TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF REPRESENTATIVE OFFICE (RO) REGISTERED IN
SINGAPORE BY FOREIGN GOVERNMENT
A FUNCTION
1) A Foreign Government Representative Office's functions shall be limited to the following:
i. organisation of trade exhibitions and displays,
ii. conducting market research,
iii. dissemination of trade and investment information, and
iv. preparation of visits by trade missions
2) A Foreign Government Representative Office may not engage in direct sales, whether wholesale, retail or any other governmental liaison activities that derive revenue, fee or receive payment for any of its services.
3) A Foreign Government Representative Office does not exempt the applicant, the representatives or staff from compliance with all laws in Singapore, whether written or otherwise, requiring the registration of various bodies or entities of any sort.
B LOCATION
4) A Foreign Government Representative Office shall be located outside of the diplomatic mission and be independent of it.
C STAFF
5) The staff of the Foreign Government Representative Office shall have no diplomatic status and the number of expatriate personnel shall be limited to the numbers as approved by the Enterprise Singapore Board.
D APPROVING AUTHORITY AND APPLICATION
6) Enterprise Singapore shall be the authority to approve the establishment of Foreign Government Representative Office. Applications should be directed to the Enterprise Singapore with particulars on functions, location and staff requirements.
7) The RO registered with Enterprise Singapore will be published online at Enterprise Singapore's website. Enterprise Singapore reserves the right to make available the contact details of the RO and principal activities of its parent company to the public.
